Rosie Lloyd-Giblett’s work has a physical relationship with the surfaces; She wants the viewer to move and discover their feet in her artwork and get into tune with the natural world. Rosie hopes to express the magnetic energy of walking up mountain ranges, visiting the outback and exploring the coastline.

Rosie Lloyd-Giblett

Rosie Lloyd-Giblett has worked as an artist and art educator across many landscapes. Her childhood was full of the open spaces of Western Queensland and after completing a Fine Arts Degree in painting and Graduate Diploma in Education she ventured into the world. She has taught in Southern Africa, the Northern Territory and Cape York. These experiences as well as the past 20 years living on the Sunshine Coast have shaped and inspired her artistic direction and practices.

Over the past twelve years Rosie has had the opportunity to reconnect with her passions of painting and drawing. Her life experiences gathered can be clearly witnessed in her love affair with the natural environment. Working plein air has led to a deeper meaning within her work which has shaped her imagery for solo and group exhibitions in Noosa, Gympie and Caloundra Regional Galleries and beyond.

Her works on paper and canvas are expressive and at times abstract. There is an opportunity for the viewer to feel the energy of the mark making, flickering shadows and the change in seasons of the sub- tropical landscape.
